Employee Investigations

What kind of investigation?

We cover workplace investigations into alleged misconduct such as:

  • Dishonesty
  • Failure to comply with instructions or rules
  • Sexual harassment
  • Discrimination
  • Violent conduct
  • Bullying and harassment

Why Independent?

There are numerous reasons why you might choose to use an independent investigator including:

  • To comply with the Acas Code
  • Senior employees/directors are or have already been involved
  • Insufficient in-house experience
  • Better use of management time to use an external resource

The Acas Code

The Acas Code addresses the use of external resources and says:


Employers and employees should always seek to resolve disciplinary and grievance issues in the workplace. Where this is not possible employers and employees should consider using an independent third party to help resolve the problem


Using an independent resource such as us can help you comply with the Acas Code.

Output

What will you get at the end of our investigation? This will depend on the instruction but will normally be a written report which makes recommendations on your next step. This could be, for example, a recommendation:

  • That there be no further action
  • That a formal disciplinary should take place
  • To consider mediation
